Scouts Win the 2008 Junior Downsmen Competition

The weekend of 7th and 8th June saw six Scouts take part in the Junior Downsmen Competition Hike.

There were six Junior Teams, comprising of four to six Scouts in each team and nine Senior Teams, comprising of two or three Scouts in each.

Covering a distance of approx 24k over the weekend, the group had to carry all their own equipment, including tents, cooking equipment and food for the weekend.

Each of the groups were judged at various stages throughout the weekend with checkpoint activities, how well they prepared their food to how good it actually tasted, down to how they left their camping site at the beginning of the second day.
