Cub Scouts are Boys and Girls aged 8 to 10. They meet in a Cub Pack and have lots of fun. At Cubs you can try lots of fun activities like Camping, going on trips and making things.
We at the 12th enjoy a wide and varied programme of events. During the weekly meetings we do as the Cub Promise says "Do Our Best" and by that we mean just that. We "Do Our Best" to enjoy ourselves and learn and take part in the activities.
We run what is called a balanced programme of activities. This summer term we will be taking part in:
City Gates Challenge - This is a Chichester City Quiz and will involve the Cubs from all over the district looking for answers to questions about Chichester by looking around the city.
Brandy Hole Lane - Our pack are helping the "Friends Of Brandy Hole Copse" by doing a litter pick and then a wide game.
Camp Skills - This is an evening in preperation for our District Camp. We will practice putting up the tents and learn a bit about camping prior to the actual camp.
An introduction to Rugby - For this evening we will have some coaches from Chichester Rugby Club teaching the cubs about rugby and have a game of Tag Rugby so they get a feel for the game, should they wish to play.
Mothers Pride - This is one of our Cryptic Clues, but what we will be doing is Backwoods Cooking in specially built ovens. These are dug in to the earth and used to bake dough sticks amongst other goodies.
Brandy Hole Lane - This is another evening organised by the "Friends of Brandy Hole Copse" and will see the Cubs doing an Animal Orienteering Evening.
En France - This evening will be based around French Culture, with some french cuisine and games.
And to finish the term we will cycle to West Dean and have some games and a barbecue.
As you can see we do have a varied programe.
